Terms & Conditions

Unlike some of our competitors we do not have reams of fancy conditions HOWEVER in order to offer a fast competitive service, we have reluctantly had to introduce a few guidelines.

1. Please do not order parts until you are happy that you know they are the correct item for your actual loco.  We do not exchange parts that have been ordered in error.  You have numerous ways of identifying your parts - Hornby have downloadable service sheets for most loco's issued since 2000 on their website www.hornby.com   for OO scale models and www.hornbyinternational.com  for HO & N gauge by Jouef, Lima, Arnold & Rivarossi. Likewise we have sheets going back to 1993 and are more than happy to answer your questions by email abbiegails-spares@tiscali.co.uk  . Obviously if the part is faulty in manufacture we will replace it for an identical item.

2. Please bear in mind that parts intended to fit China made models may not necessarily fit Margate made issues. With the exception of obvious items like traction tyres and buffers (still available for earlier issues) many items whilst still looking similar will have had technical modifications and no longer fit older models.

3. We can normally turn orders around in 5 working days however occasionally it may take longer at peak periods and staff holidays.

4. Please ensure you enter credit card details correctly. We know it sounds crazy but on average 5 customers per month guess at the expiry date.

5. Returns - If you have to return a part due to it being faulty in manufacture, you must contact our office within 7 days of receipt. This should be by phone or email. Claims after this period may not be accepted.  

6. VAT - All of our prices include vat at standard rate. We do not offer vat free on spares orders under £25 as we use the difference to pay for postage charges.

7. Currency conversion. Please note prices shown in Euro's or US Dollars are for guidance only.

8. Due to supply problems in China, Hornby are not always able to supply the quantity of spares needed to meet all our orders. For this reason we limit the number of packets of any one spare part to a maximum of 3 or 5 depending on availability, sometimes a maximum of 1. We see this as the fairest to all our customers.
